Scrap, unbuild, and manufacturing reports
Record production loss, reverse completed builds, and analyze delays, efficiency, and output.
Manufacturing corrections must remain visible in the inventory ledger. Use Scrap for stock that permanently leaves usable inventory. Use Unbuild when a finished good is disassembled and components return to stock.
Scrap
Open /manufacturing/scrap.
- Choose the variant, source location, quantity, and reason.
- Link the manufacturing order when the loss belongs to production.
- Save and post the scrap action offered by the workflow.
Posting removes stock at current average cost and records the loss. The manufacturing order detail shows component scrap and scrap variance when linked.
Do not use Scrap for a temporary quarantine. Use lot status or the quality workflow until the disposal decision is final.
Unbuild
Open /manufacturing/unbuild when enabled.
- Choose the finished product and quantity.
- Select a source manufacturing order when available, or use the active Bill of Materials.
- Choose the location and required lot or serial identifiers.
- Save the Draft.
- Confirm the unbuild.
Confirmation consumes the finished good and receives the reverse exploded components. Unbuild states follow Draft, Done, and Cancelled behavior through the page actions.
Reports
Open /manufacturing/reports for delay analysis, work center overall equipment effectiveness, and production analysis by product and period.
Use actual completed quantity, operation time, scrap, and dates when interpreting the report. Draft and Confirmed orders do not represent completed output.
Common problems
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| Scrap cannot post | Check on hand quantity, source location, manager permission, and approval requirements. |
| Unbuild has no source order | No eligible completed manufacturing order exists for that product. Use the active Bill of Materials only when appropriate. |
| Serial unbuild is rejected | Select an in stock serial that belongs to the finished variant. |
| Report output is zero | Complete orders and confirm the selected date range and product filters. |
| Scrap appears in cost but not planned quantity | Scrap is a separate loss event and does not increase finished output. |
